With approximately 550 members, the objective of the Northern Virginia Gun Club is the encouragement of organized legal small arms shooting among citizens of the United States with a view towards a better knowledge on the part of such citizens of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improve marksmanship. We encourage the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance that are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism. We provide an opportunity for both members and guests within the Greater Northern and Central Virginia and Southern Maryland areas to participate in rifle, shotgun, pistol and archery sporting events. We offer the use of our facilities to Boy Scouts of America troops and packs in the region in achieving their goals. We support youth shooting groups in King George and surrounding counties through sponsorship of various youth shooting programs

UPRAA develops and conducts programs and initiatives for the benefit of our membership, and supports the educational goals of the University of Puerto Rico educational system, which currently includes 11 campuses: Aguadilla, Arecibo, Bayamón, Carolina, Ciencias Médicas, Cayey, Humacao, Mayaguez, Ponce, Río Piedras, and Utuado. The main purposes of UPRAA are as follows: Support and promote the educational goals of the University of Puerto Rico educational system in the Continental United States and abroad by: Building an organization in which University of Puerto Rico Alumni and Friends, located in the Continental United States and abroad, converge in fraternal union to foster common interests. Conducting educational and networking programs for the benefit of the UPR Alumni and Friends community in the Continental United States and abroad. Supporting charitable, scholarship and educational programs.

HDR IS A DESIGNATED MAIN STREET AMERICA COMMUNITY FOCUSED ON THE ON-GOING REVITALIZATION OF HISTORIC DOWNTOWN HARRISONBURG.
