TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO EMPLOYEES AND THEIR DEPENDENTS OF KINDRED HEALTHCARE, LLC AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATED COMPANIES, WHO ARE IN NEED OF BASIC NECESSITIES OR EXPERIENCE UNEXPECTED DEVASTATING FINANCIAL SETBACKS AS A RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT, ILLNESS, INJURY, DEATH, NATURAL DISASTER OR OTHER CATSTROPHIC EMERGENCY HARDSHIP EVENT. ADDITIONALLY, THROUGH THE SCHOLARSHIP OF HOPE PROGRAM, TO PROVIDE TUITION SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE TO EMPLOYEES THAT ARE BLACK, INDIGENOUS, OR PEOPLE OF COLOR, WHICH INCLUDES ALL ETHNIC MINORITY GROUPS.
